The 2016 U.S. Senior Open was won by Gene Sauers, who won in a Monday finish at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio, by a shot over 54-hole leader Miguel Angel Jimenez and Billy Mayfair at 3-under 277.
Ian Woosnam finished in fourth and Michael Allen finished alone in fifth place. Those were the only five players in the field to shoot par or better in the 72-hole event.
