    Description

You are bidding on a large, very rare original antique engraving from an 1870s French illustrated journal.
It depicts a Royal falconry hunt in Persia (modern day Iran). The falcon is taking down a small deer, while the horseman is prepaing to spear it. Beautiful Saluki dogs
(Slougui, Royal Dog of Egypt or Persian Greyhound)
    run down the deer.
Also included with the print is a second page from the same journal with an 36-inch article. The article starts on the second page, and continues onto the back of the print. It is in French, but free computer translation programs make it easy to translate.
The caption reads:  Chasse Royale en Perse
which roughly translates to: Royal hunt in Persia
It is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture fills most of it, with a French caption below and text surrounding it.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
There is text/photos on the back of the print.
See scan for an accurate view of the condition.
This is GENUINE antique/vintage item. It is not a modern reproduction.
