A large and impressive, 10 inch hand painted tin
Pinard fire truck with its 3 ORIGINAL bisque headed firemen, all in excellent condition and and still with their brass helmets. One wooden shoe is partially broken, one arm missing and one possibly replaced. These figures were not pegged to their seats and, as a result, they rarely stayed in place, slipping off the first chance they got.
So it's unusual to see even a single figure still with the truck.
The vehicle shows very little wear except along the two spots on the front of the fenders. All gold painted lamps, horn and axes are still present, as are the original black rubber tires.
Very typical of the earliest Pinard fire trucks is their elevated rear end, which, (as on the real prototype) would level off as soon as several firemen would position themselves on the ladder. The string wound around the ladder extension has broken and a new one will have to be re-strung.
Certainly a very elegant turn of the century piece that displays beautifully.
