Description
Leviton ODS10-ID Decora Wall Switch Occupancy SensorThe Leviton ODS10-ID Decora wall switch occupancy sensor is the ideal energy-saving choice to provide automatic (auto on/off and manual on/auto off) lighting control in a variety of commercial and residential applications, including offices, conference rooms, multimedia rooms, child-care centers, and more. The ODS10 is the perfect solution for controlling a wide variety of load types. It features a low-profile digital design and vandal-resistant PIR lens. It does not require a neutral connection, and it installs in place of a single-pole wall switch to fit in a standard wall box.
Automatic Lighting Control for Energy Savings
It's well-known that turning off the lights when leaving the room is one of the simplest ways to cut down on energy usage. Yet it's not always convenient or easy to remember, especially in places where a variety of people are coming and going throughout the day.
The ODS10-ID helps eliminate the problem of load type selection by providing automatic control of incandescent lamps, fluorescent, and low-voltage lighting with electronic or magnetic ballasts. It provides an adjustable 180-degree field of view with optional adjustments for sensitivity, ambient light override, and delayed off time. The unit also features a manual override switch that can be used to keep lights off while an area is occupied, which may be desired in conference rooms and other areas during slide or film presentations.
For increased energy savings, the ODS10-ID offers a light sensor which provides an ambient light override option that can be set between two and 500+ foot-candles at full brightness to prevent the sensor from switching lights on when there's sufficient sunlight, regardless of occupancy.
About PIR Technology
The ODS10-ID uses passive infrared (PIR) detection technology via a segmented Fresnel lens to monitor a room for occupancy. This specialized lens divides the field of view into sensor zones. When a person passes into or out of a sensor zone, the sensor detects motion and switches the lights on. The lights will remain on as long as there is an occupant in the room. When the space being monitored by the sensor is unoccupied for the preset time you've chosen, the unit will switch the lights on.
