    The
    Chief Joseph Trail Ride
    is one of the longest-running historic
    rides
    in the United States, having been hosted by the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) since 1965. It retraces the route taken by
    Chief Joseph
    and his people as they fled capture by the U.S. Cavalry during the Conflict of 1877. It is a 1300 mile ride and is an annual event. This belt buckle marks the 50th anniversary of this ride. This buckle is 5 inches across and weighs 8.4 ounces (that is half a pound). The style number on the back of the buckle says 1214879-3. This buckle is no longer offered. I am assuming all silver is German silver as I do not see any .925 sterling markings on the buckle. It is a beauty. All original hangtags are attached and original box is included. Item is pristine.
