Orrefors Brown Engraved Bowl by Nils Landberg
Nils Landberg's brown tinted engraved glass pieces are rarely found! This bowl is an outstanding example of his early works as an engraver for Orrefors.
It features an engraved nude woman, elongated in shape in Landberg's signature style, on an octagonal cut form that has a brown tint.
Approximately 4-3/8" wide and 2-1/2" tall. This rare bowl displays very well; it has some expected scratches and base wear and a couple of microscopic pinhole nicks to one rim edge.
Signed to the base edge: of. N. 1425. and what looks like an A. and 2. The "of" stands for Orrefors, the "N" for Nils Landberg and the "1425" for the design pattern.
The 1425 design pattern code number indicates this bowl was made in 1934.
