Back in the "Good old days" of Woodstock (the real one!), Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, HAIR, Jesus Christ Superstar and the motto of the day, "Make Love NOT WAR"......everyone HAD to have at least 1 Peace symbol piece of jewelry and a strand of Love Beads!
The Vietnam War brought great importance and popularity to this symbol as Americans were praying for PEACE, once again, and in passive protest to WAR and a longing for world harmony, they all wore peace symbols.
