Description

Please consider purchasing the salad plates from my grandmother's set of Johnson Brother's Coaching Scenes.
These white ironstone dinner plates are decorated with blue-toned renderings of Victorian era, English coaching scenes...and are sometimes referred to as transferware. The scalloped, swirl-textured rims are accented with blue filigree and florals. The bottoms are labeled "Made in England"
trademarks
and the 'Coaching Scenes'  pattern name.
.
THE CONDITION IS USED.  5 dishes are in very good condition considering their nearly 60 year age having no chips or cracks. The fronts of these dishes are still vibrant in color.  The reverse sides have a few scratches and marks, several small evenly scattered  blemishes on rim possibly resulting from attachment for glazing as well as several scattered wisps of blue paint.  One of the dishes has a 1" line of crazing under glaze under the "Coaching Scenes" label.  The fluted, swirled fronts have left faint impression of 1/2" evenly spaced lines underglaze on the reverse side.
The 3 remaining dishes have
no chips or cracks and have
similar condition issues to the five listed above...however they also have
some minimal crazing
.
