Walt Disney Productions Jack-In-The-Box Toy - No. 956CIRCA: 1950sMANUFACTURER: Carnival Toys, Inc., Bridgeport, CTMEASUREMENTS: approximately 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" x 1 3/4"This Mickey Mouse Jack-in-the-Box features a variety of Disney characters with Mickey Mouse as the star attraction. When the metal turn-crank handle and plastic knob on the right side of the box is turned, intermittent segments of "Pop Goes the Weasel". Mickey's plastic head is atop a substantial spring concealed by red cloth with white polka dots. The sides of the box feature lithographed images of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy, Minnie Mouse, and other Disney characters parading with musical instruments, balloons, and other carnival items. The predominant colors are bright yellow and vivid red. Despite being a half-century old this toy is in "near MINT new" condition. The colors are bold, the images are clear. Mechanical is perfect! This is a fabulous piece for a tin toy collector!
