Vintage Orrefors Edward Hald Punch Bowl Set 1937

Description

This punch bowl set designed by Edward Hald  and was made in 1937. It is pattern #1819 (see photo of signature).  It includes a bowl which sits on a separate base and 12 cups. The bowl can thus be utilized with or without the base as a salad, fruit or trifle bowl. The base can be used separately as a centerpiece container. Cups and base are a ribbed pattern in the Art Deco style. In 1989 a letter from Orrefors Sweden their authenticator, Mona Engstrom,  verified the date and designer.  Upon request, we can provide the letter of authenticity dated 2/20/89.
This set was never used and each piece carries the red and gold Orrefors tag intact.  No chips, cracks or crazing. Bottom of bowl has small scuff marks from sitting on a glass shelf.
