Hello and WELCOME BACK to all of my loyal customers over the years. I have recently returned to Ebay after two years abroad, and I am happy to once again offer some of the FINEST and RAREST of vintage collectible Western Trophy Buckles and Ranger Sets. Most ALL of my items are ORIGINAL, not modern reproductions of the originals. These are the REAL McCOYS!!!Here is a beautiful classic old THE WESTERNER Sterling buckle featuring a FILIGREED MORGAN DOLLAR and SPECTACULAR single point hand engraving, which is still very sharp. You MUST look at the close up photos in order to fully appreciate the minute hand work that had to go into FILIGREEING the silver dollar....UNBELIEVABLE. The buckle appears to be unworn.
Harry Soulages was shop manager for Bohlin in the 1930s. He left Bohlin to start Hollywood Saddlery. He then moved to Reno, Nevada, where he became the manager of The Westerner silver shop from 1941-46. In around 1947, Harry started Soulages Mfg. at the Westerner address. Around 1951, he sold Soulages Mfg. to Bob White, who changed the name back to The Westerner.
The buckle is signed "THE WESTERNER RENO NEVADA STERLING." This is a very special piece that would make a WONDERFUL gift for yourself or a loved one. BE SURE TO SEE MY OTHER AUCTION ITEMS!!!
